Sansevieria kirkii 🌿
With its narrow, dagger-shaped leaves patterned in deep green tones and edged in wavy brown, Sansevieria kirkii is as rugged as it is beautiful. Its smooth, architectural foliage can reach up to a metre in length, making it a striking statement plant for any space.

Closely related to the classic Snake Plant (Sansevieria trifasciata), kirkii shares all the same virtues: adaptable, air-purifying, and almost impossible to kill.

Surviving

Light: Direct

I love the light! A big ol' dose of bright, sunlight each day is my idea of heaven. I'm even up for some direct rays, just as long as it's not a scorcher. That said, I'm pretty adaptable. If light or dappled shade is all you've got, I won't complain.

Watering: Regular

I'm a Thirsty Kirsty! I could drink most other plants under the table and still throw shapes on the dancefloor. Don't let me dry out or there'll be trouble, but remember, the art of drinking is slow & steady. Too much, too quick isn't good for any of us. Keep my soil moist but not soggy.

Watering: Moderate

I'm a Moderate Molly! Not one for necking my drinks and shouting out for more, I'm much more about nursing mine and savouring every last drop. A gentle top-up once a week should be just fine for me, thanks.

Thriving

This plant is the definition of low effort, high reward. It loves bright, indirect light but will tolerate lower light just fine. Water sparingly — only when the soil is bone dry — and make sure it’s in a pot with drainage. Too much love (aka overwatering) is its only downfall.
