Our Roots
We’re an independently owned florist and plant store rooted on the Ormeau Road in South Belfast. What started as a passion project has grown into a proper homegrown brand, almost ten years on the Road and over twenty in the industry later, we’re still as flower mad as ever!
Founded in 2005 as a local community flower shop in Carryduff, Memento started with one goal, to shake up the traditional florist scene.
Fast forward to 2016, when the reins changed hands and a new era began. What started as a small neighbourhood shop grew into Belfast’s go to destination for bold blooms, fancy plants, and unapologetic creativity.

We love everything about Belfast and the people who make it what it is. From supporting local charities and community projects to doing our bit for the planet, we’re all about keeping things green in more ways than one. Memento’s always been about community, creativity, and having a laugh while we do it, sure life’s too short not to have a bit of fun!
Still Growing Strong
We opened our brand new store on Haywood Avenue, Ormeau in May 2025, a.k.a. our Side Street Jungle, a creative space brimming with life, energy, and more indoor plants than your average rainforest.
We are jam packed with Northern Ireland’s largest selection of unique indoor plants, botanical gifts, and design-led treats from brilliant independent makers, all backed by our award winning retail experience, including being named Northern Ireland Retailer of the Year 2021/22 by the Belfast Telegraph in partnership with Retail NI.
Keeping It Blooming Brilliant
At the heart of it all is Gary, our Owner & Head of All Things Memento, always curious, slightly chaotic, and hellbent on keeping things moving!
Since taking the reins in 2016, Gary has led Memento with a vision that blends emotional design, bold ideas, and proper community connection, earning him the title of Northern Ireland Managing Director of the Year (Floristry)
We don’t just sell flowers. We craft floral experiences with joy, edge, and instinct. Our expert florists design with feeling, not formulas. And our in house plant team? Total legends, full of solid advice and zero judgement, whether you're keeping a cactus alive or building your own personal jungle.
Memento is more than a shop, it’s a hub, a hangout, and a home for creativity. We're always evolving, always experimenting, and always looking for ways to do retail our way, with heart, humour, and super sexy flowers.
Because sure, money can’t buy you love… but it can secure short term, total adoration.
