Our Roots
We’re an independently owned florist and plant store rooted on the Ormeau Road in South Belfast. What started as a passion project has grown into a proper homegrown brand, almost ten years on the Road and over twenty in the industry later, we’re still as flower mad as ever!
Founded in 2005 as a local community flower shop in Carryduff, Memento started with one goal, to shake up the traditional florist scene.
Fast forward to 2016, when the reins changed hands and a new era began. What started as a small neighbourhood shop grew into Belfast’s go to destination for bold blooms, fancy plants, and unapologetic creativity.

We love everything about Belfast and the people who make it what it is. From supporting local charities and community projects to doing our bit for the planet, we’re all about keeping things green in more ways than one. Memento’s always been about community, creativity, and having a laugh while we do it, sure life’s too short not to have a bit of fun!
Still Growing Strong
We opened our brand new store on Haywood Avenue, Ormeau in May 2025, a.k.a. our Side Street Jungle, a creative space brimming with life, energy, and more indoor plants than your average rainforest.
We are jam packed with Northern Ireland’s largest selection of unique indoor plants, botanical gifts, and design-led treats from brilliant independent makers, all backed by our award winning retail experience, including being named Northern Ireland Retailer of the Year 2021/22 by the Belfast Telegraph in partnership with Retail NI.
We’re a local flower shop first and foremost, by your side through it all. Our florists design with feeling, not formulas. And our in-house plant team? Absolute legends. Solid advice. Zero judgement. Whether you’re keeping a cactus alive or building your own personal jungle.
Memento is more than a shop. It’s a hub. A hangout. A home for creativity. We’re always evolving, always experimenting, always doing retail our way, with heart, humour and seriously good flowers.
Keeping It Blooming Brilliant
At the heart of it all is Gary, Owner and Head of All Things Memento. Always curious, slightly chaotic, and hellbent on keeping things moving.
Gary took over in 2016, threw the rulebook out and hasn’t stood still since. Growth’s in his DNA. The shop got louder. The ideas got bigger. The standards got higher. SME News awarded him Managing Director of the Year (Flower Industry). Around here, that usually means "what’s he thinking now?”. That aside, this place has never just been about flowers.
We’re part of the community. We share the rollercoaster that is life, the celebrations, the heartbreaks, the “just because” days in between. Flowers don’t just say “I love you” or “I’m here for you.” They speak in their own way. And we’re here to help you say it properly.
