Aechmea fasciata ‘Primera’ (Silver Vase Plant) 🌸🌿
Aechmea fasciata ‘Primera’, also known as the Silver Vase Plant, is one of the most popular bromeliads, prized for its striking silver-green leaves and dramatic pink flower bracts. Its sculptural rosette form and long-lasting blooms make it a true statement plant indoors.

Plant Care

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid harsh direct sun which can scorch its leaves.
  • Watering: Keep the central “cup” at the base of the leaves filled with fresh water, refreshing weekly. Water the soil lightly, ensuring good drainage.
  • Temperature: Thrives in 18–27°C. Protect from temperatures below 15°C.
  • Humidity: Enjoys higher humidity — mist occasionally or place near a humidifier.
  • Feed: Use a diluted bromeliad or houseplant fertiliser every 4–6 weeks in the growing season.

Good to Know

  • Blooms: Produces a striking pink flower bract with small purple-blue flowers that can last for months.

  • Pet Friendly: Non-toxic to cats and dogs.
  • Also Known As: Silver Vase Plant, Urn Plant.
