No experience? No bother. Come with mates or come yourself.

What you’ll get up to

A whole rainforest. This is the big one.

Two hours, one beautiful glass vessel and a table full of tropical plants, moss, stone and all the bits you need to build a proper little ecosystem from scratch.

You’ll start at the bottom, creating the layers that keep a sealed terrarium ticking over, before planting it up with ferns, Fittonia, palms and loads of rich green texture. Then comes the good bit - arranging, tweaking, adding moss and getting completely carried away until it looks like a tiny rainforest has taken over the jar.

And because this one is sealed with a cork lid, there’s a bit of actual plant wizardry going on too. Once it’s established, moisture cycles around inside the vessel, helping create its own little environment with surprisingly little interference from you.

We’ll explain what’s happening in there, what not to fiddle with, and how to keep it thriving without loving it to death.

Basically: maximum jungle, minimum faff.

From the making table

Good words from the making table.

“Had a wonderful night last night learning how to plant up a glass terrarium in a workshop. Didn't feel stupid asking questions, everything explained, no patronising answers and had great fun. Loved it so much going back to do another one for desert plants. Would recommend it for something different to do.”

“I've ordered from Memento many times now and the plants arrive safely and healthy every single time. The workshop I've attended was also very good. The shop itself is worth visiting, it's booming with flowers, plants and house wares. Superb customer service. Would recommend Memento to any plant lovers!”
