What you’ll get up to
Build your own little tropical world.
Ferns, palms, Fittonia, moss, stone, soil - all crammed into one glass vessel and somehow looking ridiculously good together.
This one’s for anyone who likes plants but maybe doesn’t fancy turning the whole house into a rainforest.
You’ll build your terrarium from the bottom up, getting the layers right, planting it properly and then styling it until it looks less “school science project” and more “where did you get that?”
We’ll show you what goes where, why it matters, and how to keep the thing alive afterwards.
No matching terrariums. No copy-and-paste designs. You’ll have a mix of tropical plants and materials to work with, then you can make yours as neat, wild or overgrown-looking as you fancy.
It’s green therapy… minus the therapist.
No plant experience needed. We’ll provide everything - you just turn up and get stuck in.

Do I need any experience?
Beginners are welcome at our public workshops. Our team demonstrates the techniques and guides you as you make your own piece. The DIY Terrarium Bar is a separate, self-led experience.
Can I come on my own?
Absolutely. Come with friends or come yourself. You will share the making table with other guests.
Where are the workshops held?
Public sessions on this page take place at Memento, 1A Haywood Avenue, Ormeau Road, Belfast BT7 3EU. Private events can also be arranged at your venue.
What is included in my ticket?
Each listing explains the creation, materials, guidance and refreshments included. Food and alcohol vary by event, so check your chosen session.
How do DIY bookings work?
Choose an available booking window on the product page. For Build a Terrarium, the team contacts you with your allocated slot. Repotting has additional per-plant charges shown on its booking page.
What if I need to change my booking?
Please contact events@mementobelfast.com with your order number. Check the booking and refund information before purchasing.
What should I know before visiting?
Arrive 10 minutes before a taught workshop. There is on-street parking in the Ormeau area, subject to availability and local restrictions. Contact us before booking if you would like to discuss access requirements. Bring an extra layer for winter sessions.
